an afternoon with Nine Inch Nails...

26MAY2009 - Englewood, CO
NIN/JA Tour
The strangest NIN show ever.
Street Sweeper Social Club played for about 30min. Then NIN played for about 1hr 30min. Then Jane's Addiction played for about 1hr.

The sun didn't go down until Jane's Addiction played.

The crowd was not a NIN crowd.

There was a five year old girl that thought Trent Reznor was Jesus.

Little girl, bottom left...

Trent wore purple leather pants...

and the show was actually boring...

Dear Trent Reznor,
Please never tour with Jane's Addiction or any other band with a large following. Their fans aren't fun like the NIN'ers.  Also, make a note... the only acceptable time to play outside in Colorado is July or August.  You should know this by now, or did you already forget that you froze you balls off in Sept. 2008 at Red Rocks.  Oh, and we appreciate the visuals that go with your shows, so please play in the dark and calm it with the fog machine... poor drummer boy was hidden most of the show.
Thank you,
Emily

Felt the same way about the NIN/JA show. Sucked. Your review was concise and to the point and I liked it. You forgot that Trent's voice sucked and he forgot the words to some songs.

oh yeah... good point. he played a bunch of songs i've never heard live before and hope i never hear live again. some songs just aren't meant for live performances... especially if you don't rehearse enough. i'm looking forward to my 10th show, whenever that may be... hopefully Trent will redeem himself.

Where the hell do i begin? this was hands down the worst concert experience of my life. Terrible set list, low energy, and the band did not sound super tight. And this kid Ilan, does not fill Josh Freese's shoes very well. The drums sounded out of synch!?! I don't think Reznor focused on this tour. Despite the good deed he has performed for this Eric guy, I still think it was done for very self serving purposes and for damage control, or to make him seem like a caring guy. He should have given a tighter performance.

I was so excited about getting tickets to see NIN/JA. I got there early and secured my spot a couple of feet from the stage. To my great disappointment, the sound was so awful that it completely ruined the experience for me. NIN put on a terrible show, from vocals to visuals. I wish they had played longer. I didn't expect this from NIN. They should have done a show with a mixture of old and new songs. Renzor is getting old they can't rock the house anymore.
